She is a full professor of international law at the University of Angers (France), where she teaches international and European law. Alina has an outstanding experience as counsel and advocate representing numerous States before the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, and arbitral tribunals. She holds a PhD in international law from the Université Paris Nanterre and is author of a number of textbooks and articles concerning the entire spectrum of international law. In particular, she is co-authoring with Professor Alain Pellet and Professor Mathias Forteau the major French-language textbook on International Law. Alina is regularly invited by the United Nations and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea to give lectures on international litigation, law of the sea, diplomatic and consular law, and international responsibility. He has been working in international dispute settlement for twenty years, and has represented States as counsel and advocate on numerous occasions before international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as before arbitral tribunals constituted under Chapter VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and ad hoc arbitral tribunals.
